Summary

A range of four early 18th-century and later barns to the south-east of Old Hall (NHER 6150). They have walls of flint and brick, with base boulders of volcanic lava and erratic also present in the west gable of the westernmost barn. All have king-post roofs.

February 1952. Listed, Grade II.
Listing Description excerpt:
"Range of four barns c.75m long under three roofs, early 18th century and later. Flint with brick dressings, pantiles.
1. To west, coursed flint, oversailing eaves cornice rebuilt in Fletton brick, door to right with Fletton brick surround in rebuilt wall; west gable has base boulders of volcanic lava and erratics, stable door approached by flight of steps, steel casement window with glazing bars, chamfered brick quoins with decorative broken flint, gable parapet, three fixed windows to rear with glazing bars, stable door under cambered arch. King-post roof.
2. At higher level under different roof, four bays, west gable of coursed flint, south-west quoin rebuilt in Fletton brick. One three-light window with cast iron glazing bars and and gothic heads; large doors to second bay, outshut to rear; King-post roof.
3. Five bays under continuous roof with 2nd barn; large central doors, lower wall coursed flint, upper part courses of alternating flint and brick. King-post roof.
4. Higher early 18th-century seven-stead barn of coursed flint with some brick, gable parapets, brick dressed vertical slits, central doors. King-post roof."
