Summary

This church has medieval and post medieval elements. The tower is early 16th century and incorporates earlier material, including reused Norman stonework. The nave and chancel were rebuilt in 1742. In 1997 building work revealed part of the medieval nave or a former aisle; an Early Saxon spindle whorl and Late Saxon pottery were also discovered. The font is 13th century and there is a base from a medieval cross in the churchyard.

Observation of construction of north extension (vestry washroom). Contexts 2 to 42 inclusive.
Revealed original wall footing, stated to be that of nave (really an aisle?) cut by 18th and 19th century vaults.
Early Saxon spindle whorl and Late Saxon sherds found.
