Full Description
September 2021. Aylsham and Brampton Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
The cropmarks of a probable linear Bronze Age barrow cemetery are seen on aerial photographs (S1-S2). The probable cemetery consists of the three ring ditches (NHER 65600, NHER 65601, and NHER 65602) which most likely relate to the stie of three Bronze Age round barrows. A fourth possible ring ditch has been recorded in close proximity (approximately 70m) to the west (NHER 64252) which may relate to these features. Roman pottery kilns (NHER 7498), multi period field boundaries and possible enclosures (NHER 64257) have also been recorded in close proximity to the ring ditches.
J. Powell (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 22 September 2021.
