Map

The site of a probable Bronze Age ring ditch is seen as a cropmark on aerial photographs (S1-S2). The ring ditch most likely relates to the remains of a former Bronze Age round barrow. Five pit features can be seen in the centre of the ring ditch. It is possible that the pits could be archaeological in origin. However, there is a large amount of geological cropmarks visible across the area and its equally possible that the pits may be natural in origin. As the origin of the pits is unclear, the features have been mapped by extent. From the form of the feature and the presence of pits within the ring ditch, the possibility that the ring ditch could relate to an Iron Age round house, cannot be ruled out. The site of further probable Bronze Age round barrows are recorded approximately 150m (NHER 64323) and 130m to the south (NHER 64325) .
