Full Description
August 2023. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Fragmented sections of a trackway of an unknown date are seen as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1-S3). Two sections of ditch on a similar alignment to the trackway can be seen (on S3) at TF 8967 0888 and TF 8962 0881. It is uncertain as to whether these features relate to the trackway or are boundary ditches on a similar alignment. The sections of trackway appear to be overlain by the cropmarks of post medieval field boundaries (not mapped) recorded on the historic maps (S4-S6). The sections of trackway may also cross or be crossed by a second trackway (NHER 66978) on a different alignment in the south of the record (centred at approximately TF 8961 0878). The relationship between the two trackways is unknown.
