Summary

A World War One memorial with World War Two additions in the form of a stone cross. Designed by H.H. Palmer, a local architect. Erected in memory of those who fell in the first World War with later additions after the second World War, the Korean War, and Iraq (1954)

Location: The Square, Market Place, Fakenham.
Type: Cross
Description: The memorial is a stone cross on a tapering shaft that stands on an octagonal plinth. The plinth is then raised on a four-stepped octagonal base. The memorial is surrounded by ornate railings. Inscriptions for WW1 and WW2 are on the sides of the plinths and the steps. Five additional names were inscribed in 2013, two from the Second World War, two from the Korean War, and one from Iraq (1954).
