World War One memorial with World War Two addition
Location: The south side of Wells Road, Burnham Overy Staithe
Type: Wheel-head cross (Celtic)
Description: The memorial is approximately 3.6 metres tall and “takes the form of a roughly-dressed granite Celtic cross set on a short tapering shaft.” The shaft connects to a tapering plinth, which stands on a square base. The base is made of granite and dressed flint flushwork blocks. The first half of the inscription (those who fell in the war) runs from the plinth onto the base on the north side; the second half (the men who died since the war) is on the west side of the plinth.
