Map

September 2023. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Five earthwork mounds (since levelled) most likely relating to probable post medieval spoil heaps are seen on aerial photographs (S1). The mounds are in close proximity to a large probable post medieval extractive pit (centred at approximately TF 9280 0909). The mounds most likely relate to post medieval spoil heaps associated with the extractive pit. As the extractive pit is recorded in good detail on the readily available historic maps (S4 and S5) it has not been mapped as part of this project. The earthwork mounds and the extractive pit are presumed to have been levelled as a modern reservoir has been constructed over the site (visible on S2).
