Map

September 2023. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
A possible post medieval to modern trackway or section of post medieval field boundary can be seen as an earthwork (since levelled) on aerial photographs (S1). The section of earthwork ditch may relate to a possible post medieval to modern trackway associated with the nearby Wood Farm (centred at approximately TF 9096 1100. Visible on S1 and recorded S3 and S4). The feature is also on a similar alignment to a former extant field boundary (centred at approximately TF 9092 1096) visible on S1 and recorded on S4. It is therefore possible that the feature may have instead related to a section of former post medieval field boundary. The possible trackway or field boundary is not visible on the readily available historic maps such as S3 and S4. The feature can be seen as an earthwork on the 1946 aerial photographs (S1) and is presumed to have been levelled, as the feature is not visible on recent (2017) visualised lidar data (S2). Further possible medieval to post medieval field boundaries (NEHR 67623) on a different alignment have been recorded in close proximity (approximately 50m) to the southwest.
