Summary

An intermittent watching brief maintained during the excavation of a new drainage dyke at this location in 2011 recorded no archaeologically-significant features or deposits. Further monitoring during additional flood defence works in 2017 also recorded nothing of interest.

Monitoring of works undertaken as part of the Broadland Flood Alleviation Project ((Compartments 33 and 34)).
The excavation of a new drainage dyke at this location revealed no archaeologically-significant features or deposits.
Although the new dyke coincided with several medieval to post-medieval drainage features visible on aerial photographs (part of a group recorded as NHER 49240) no associated remains were identified.

April 2017. Watching Brief.
Maintained during additional flood defence works, including the raising of the floodbank built in 2011 and construction of a replacement dyke crossing close to the known site of a skeleton mill (NHER 28069).
No archaeologically-significant features or deposits were recorded and no finds recovered.
