June-October 2011. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of works undertaken as part of the Broadland Flood Alleviation Project ((Compartments 33 and 34)).
No archaeologically-significant features or deposits were noted during the groundworks at this location.
The scheme was redesigned in order minimise disturbance to the dyke system in the vicinity of St Olave’s windpump (NHER 15098) after concerns had been raised that the proposed works might block the mill’s outlet to the river or damage the existing outlet sluice.
