Summary

Trial trenching at this location in 2014 recorded a number of parallel ditches. Although these produced no finds their orientation suggests they were most likely of medieval to post-medieval date. A watching brief maintained during subsequent groundworks at the site recorded no archaeologically-significant features or deposits.

Evaluation of proposed development site (Trenches 3 and 4).
Four parallel north-north-west to south-south-east aligned linear features were exposed in the westernmost of the two trenches excavated at this location. No finds were recovered, although the orientation of these features suggests they most likely of medieval to post-medieval date.
