Full Description
November 2023. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
A possible medieval field boundary is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs (S1). The date of the feature is unknown. However, a medieval date for the feature is possible. The feature appears to be crossed by the cropmarks of later post medieval field boundaries (not mapped) visible on the readily available historic maps (such as S2 and S3). Multi-period (including Roman, Saxon, medieval and post medieval) finds have been previously recorded (NHER 24773, 24774 and 24775) across the area.
J. Powell (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 22 November 2023.
