Summary

A trackway or field boundary of probable medieval to post medieval date is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs. It leads towards a medieval moated site (possibly Gunton’s Manor, NHER 7274) to its south and may be associated with the use of this site. To the north, its line may be continued by a field boundary of possible post medieval date (NHER 67769).

Map

A trackway or field boundary of probable medieval to post medieval date is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs (S1). It leads towards a medieval moated site (possibly Gunton’s Manor, NHER 7274) to its south and may be associated with the use of this site. To the north, its line may be continued by a field boundary of possible post medieval date (NHER 67769). Alternatively, it could be a modern drain associated with the turkey sheds on the runways to the north (see Description for NHER 7274), or something associated with the Second World War airfield (NHER 7275; see S2). It is possibly visible as a cropmark continuing further to the south on some other aerial photographs (S3), but these are unrectifiable for mapping.
