Full Description
October 2023. Casual Observation.
Noticed by member of the public [1], at edge of footpath, close to small pool, at c. [2]:
Concentration of burnt flint. Exposed for about 10m at edge of dry ground.
It is possible these flints represent the remains of a prehistoric 'burnt mound' - an accumulation of material that had been used to heat or boil water.
See notes (S1) and photographs (S2).
P. Watkins (HES), 29 November 2023.
