Map

November 2023. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Pits, visible as fresh earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs (S1-S2), may relate to Second World War training activity. They have been mapped by extent. The activity could potentially be associated with the Second World War airfield (NHER 7275) immediately to the north. It is possible that at least some of the pits survive as low earthworks and are visible on visualised lidar data from a survey flown in 2017 (S3).
