Map

Earthworks (since levelled) of an enclosure, which may relate to a medieval moat, and possible medieval settlement features are seen on aerial photographs (S1-S4). The central enclosure feature (centred at approximately TF 88820 12275) may relate to a medieval moat. The additional linear features may relate to a series of boundary bank and ditches or field boundaries associated with medieval settlement. A rectilinear mound centred at TF 8882 1230 may have related to a possible medieval building platform. However, it is also possible that this feature may relate to a section of former boundary bank. The features can be seen as low earthworks on the 1940s aerial photographs and are presumed to have been levelled by the 1970s.The site of medieval settlement at this location has been previously recorded from fieldwalking and documentary research (see NHER 20818 and S5)
