Map

January 2024. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Soilmark sections of a possible medieval trackway or road are seen on aerial photographs (S1-S2). Part of the possible trackway or road (centred at approximately TF 8718 1466) can be seen as an earthwork bank on the 1940s (S1) aerial photographs. The bank is subsequently levelled and is later visible as soilmark on S2. The trackway may date to the medieval period. However, a later post medieval date for the feature cannot be ruled out. It is possible that the trackway may lead to site of Site of St Mary's Church (NHER 4200) recorded approximately 75m to the northeast.
