Map

January 2024. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Sections of a probable post medieval parish boundary are seen as cropmarks and soilmarks on aerial photographs (S1-S3). The feature follows the alignment of the parish boundary between the parishes of Great Dunham and Little Dunham. The alignment of the parish boundary is also depicted on the readily available historic maps (S4-S7). The parish boundary is likely to be post medieval in date. However, an earlier medieval date cannot be ruled out. The section of bank and ditch seen as soilmarks (centred at TF 8745 1397) appear to be quite wide on the aerial photographs (S2). This may be due to the features being spread as a result of agricultural ploughing.
