Summary

In 1968 a copper alloy object, identified as a possible Roman torc, was found by chance at this location. Metal-detecting in 2020 recovered a Roman gold earring, a post-medieval silver dress fastener and a 19th-century button inscribed with "Norwich Workhouse".

Bronze ?torc (S1) found .

19th-century button, inscribed "Norwich Workhouse". Likely from the uniform of an inmate or member of staff at Norwich Incorporation House of Industry, Bowthorpe Road, Norwich (NHER 26575).
Identified by the finder and not recorded on the PAS database.

Roman gold earring.
Post-medieval silver eye or catchpiece from a dress fastener.

This gold earring and silver fastener were both submitted for consideration as Treasure (Refs: 2021 T21 and 2021 T22 respectively).
