Full Description
January 2024. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
The earthworks (since levelled) and cropmarks of probable medieval to post medieval field boundaries are seen on aerial photographs (S1-S3). It is also possible that some of the features could have related to medieval settlement or to post medieval drainage ditches. Some of the features can be seen as earthworks on the 1940s aerial photographs. These features are subsequently levelled and seen as cropmarks on S2 and S3. Multi-period finds (NHER 20604) have also been previously recorded from across the surrounding area.
J. Powell (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 23 January 2024.
