Map

January 2024. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Earthwork mounds possibly relating to the site of a medieval to post medieval windmill are seen on visualised lidar data (S1). The features likely relate to a windmill mound associated with a medieval to post medieval windmill previously recorded at this location (NHER 18227). Further small mounds (not mapped) can be seen to the north of the site on the visualised lidar data. These features are likely to be natural in origin. It is possible that the some of the mapped features interpreted as being archaeological in origin could relate to natural features. As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently (2017) it is likely that the features still survive earthworks.
