Full Description
February 2024. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Probable post medieval field boundaries are visible as cropmarks on an aerial photograph (S1). The northern cropmarks correspond with field boundaries depicted on historic maps (such as the Ordnance Survey 1st edition 6 inch, S2) and still extant in the 1940s (as seen on aerial photographs, such as S3). These have not been mapped by the project. The southern cropmarks, which have been mapped, are similar in character and probably relate to the same phase of enclosure.
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 27 February 2024.
