Full Description
March 2024. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Probable medieval to post medieval field boundaries are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1945 (S1) and 1946 (S2-S4). The features can still be seen as low earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1976 (S5). The features have presumably, since been levelled as the features are not visible on visualised lidar data from a survey flown in 2017 (S6). Some of the features can be seen as cropmarks on more recent (2022) aerial photographs (S7). The features are not recorded on the readily accessible historic maps (such as S8-S9).
