Full Description
March 2024. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Earthwork ditches of a possible medieval to post medieval date are seen on aerial photographs (S1-S3). The features are not visible on the visualised lidar data (S4) from a survey flown in 2017 and have presumably been levelled. The features may relate to medieval to post medieval boundary ditches. However, the features are in close proximity to a probable post medieval drainage ditch and pond (not mapped; centred at approximately TF 8675 1514) also visible on S1-S3. It is therefore possible that mapped features may relate to former post medieval drainage ditches. The features are not recorded on the readily accessible historic maps such as S5-S6.
