Map

March 2024. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Cropmarks of probable medieval to post medieval filed boundaries and a pit are seen on aerial photographs (S1-S4). The parallel linear ditch features most likely relate to medieval to post medieval field boundaries. Although the date of the pit is unknown, a medieval to post medieval date is suitable. However, an earlier date for the pit cannot be ruled out. The cropmarks of geological features can be seen across the area on S1. It is therefore possible that the pit feature could be natural rather than archaeological in origin.
