Summary

Possible enclosures and boundaries of medieval to post medieval date are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs and visualised lidar data. The visualised lidar data, from a survey flown in 2017, indicates that many of the features still survived as low earthworks at that date. The site forms part of a swathe of earthworks of broadly medieval to post medieval date located along Watery Lane. Many of the features within the site could be drainage ditches, but some, at least, appear to form part of the same system of enclosure as recorded on the higher ground to the west, where the medieval moated site of Drayton Hall (NHER 2874) is surrounded by boundary ditches and banks of probable medieval to post medieval date (NHER 68208).
