Map

April 2024. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
The cropmarks of probable medieval to post medieval field boundaries and a trackway are visible on aerial photographs (S1). The date of the features is unknown. However, a medieval to post medieval date is probable. Two parallel ditches can be seen running through the centre of the area (centred at approximately TF 9144 1639) on S1. It is possible that the parallel ditches may have related to a trackway. The features coincide with a boundary recorded on the Ordnance Survey 2nd edition 25" map (S2). It is possible that the features may have related to an earlier trackway which was later incorporated into a field boundary. It is equally possible that the features may have related to field boundaries rather than a section of trackway.
