Summary

A sinuous ditch, principally visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs, flanked by plough-out banks visible as low earthworks on visualised lidar data, is probably part of the boundary of medieval to post medieval Gressenhall Park (NHER 50576). As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently (2017) it is likely that any features visible on the visualisations still survive as earthworks.

A sinuous ditch, principally visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs (S1), flanked by plough-out banks visible as low earthworks on visualised lidar data (S2), is probably part of the boundary of medieval to post medieval Gressenhall Park (NHER 50576). As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently (2017) it is likely that any features visible on the visualisations still survive as earthworks. The ditch is also visible on the visualised lidar data, mostly as a low earthwork but a more substantial segment survives within a stand of trees at its northeastern end. The banks are so spread, they have been mapped by extent, in order to avoid confusion with the proliferation of other boundary banks crossing this area (recorded as part of NHER 68225).
