Full Description
May 2024. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Earthworks (since levelled) of medieval to post medieval field boundaries, ridge and furrow and possible settlement features are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S3). The features are not visible on the relatively recent (2017) visualised lidar data (S4) and have presumably been levelled. The majority of the features most likely relate medieval to post medieval agricultural activity. However, it is possible that some of the earthworks in the south of the area (centred at TF 9731 1012) may related to medieval to post medieval settlement. It is also possible that some of the mapped features may relate to post medieval drainage ditches.
