Full Description
May 2024. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Earthwork field boundaries and ridge and furrow, of a medieval to post medieval date, are visible on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s (S1). The features are not visible on the visualised lidar data from a survey flown in 2017 (S2),and have presumably been levelled. The features may date to the post medieval period. However, an earlier, medieval date for some of the features cannot be ruled out. The field boundaries are not recorded on the readily accessible historic maps such as S3.
