Full Description
May 2024. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Probable medieval to post medieval boundary banks and ditches are visible as earthworks (since levelled) on aerial photographs taken in 1946 and 1964 (S1-S2). The features are subsequently levelled and are visible as soilmarks on aerial photographs taken in 1971 (S3). The features may have related to former medieval to post medieval field boundaries or possible medieval settlement features. It is also possible that the boundary ditch centred at may have related to a post medieval to modern drainage ditch. The features are not recoded on the readily accessible historic maps such as S4-S5.
