Full Description
June 2024. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
The cropmarks of probable field boundaries of an unknown, but likely medieval to post medieval date, are visible on aerial photographs (S1). The features most likely date to the medieval period, however a post medieval date for the features cannot be ruled out. The northern feature (centred at approximately TF 9647 0906) appears to be overlain by the cropmarks of post medieval field boundaries (not mapped) recorded on the readily accessible historic maps (such as S2-S3). It is possible that the mapped features may be earlier in date or could relate to a different phase of use to the boundaries recorded on the historic maps.
J. Powell (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 25 June 2024.
