Summary

The cropmarks of four large pit features of an unknown date, are visible on aerial photographs. The pits are fairly regular in form and measure between approximately 13m and 16m in diameter. The distance between the features is also fairly consistent, with the distance between each pit measuring between approximately 43m and 55m. The date and function of the features is unknown. The features may relate to post medieval extraction pits or may be the product of modern agricultural processes. The possibility that the features could be natural in origin also cannot be ruled out.
