Map

November 2023. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Probable medieval to post medieval field boundaries are seen as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1-S3). Although the features are likely to date to the medieval to post medieval period, an earlier date for the features cannot be ruled out. Multi period (including Roman, medieval and post medieval) finds have been previously recorded (NHER 25563 and 29222) across the area. The majority of the features are not recorded on the readily available historic maps such as S4 and S5. Two of the mapped features (centred at approximately TF 9096 1177 and TF 9115 1167) may correspond with field boundaries visible on the Tithe map (S4). However, the cropmarks appear to extend further than the extent of the mapped field boundaries recorded on S4.
