Map

December 2023. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
A section of a possible rectilinear enclosure of an unknown date is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs (S1-S2). Alternatively, it is possible that the feature may have related to a former boundary ditch of an unknown date. A post medieval field boundary is recorded at this location on the tithe map (S3). It is possible that the southern part of the enclosure could have related to part of the post medieval field boundary recorded on S3. Although the feature is likely to be archaeological in origin, the possibility that the feature could be natural or relate to modern agricultural processes, cannot be ruled out. Multi-period finds (including Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post medieval) have been previously recovered from across the area (NHER 24765, NHER 24766 and NHER 24768)
