Summary

A geophysical survey of this site in 2020/2021 identified a large discrete anomaly likely to represent an area of former quarrying. Although this location was not subject to trial trenching work to the east demonstrated that a number of similar anomalies were all associated with large quarry pits.

Map

May 2020-January 2021. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey of site on proposed route of onshore cable for Norfolk Vanguard and Boreas Offshore Wind Farms (Area 222).
The most notable response is a large discrete patch of magnetic disturbance that potentially represents an area of former quarrying.
A number of scattered discrete dipolar anomalies are likely to represent ferrous objects on or close to the surface (most likely modern debris). The remaining discrete anomalies are all of probable geological origin.
Information from draft report. Final version awaited.
