Summary

Low earthworks, visible on visualised lidar data from a survey flown in 2017, represent the remains of post medieval and probably earlier field boundaries. Most are depicted on 19th and early 20th century maps. As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently, it is probable that the earthworks still survive.

Map

November 2024. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Low earthworks, visible on visualised lidar data from a survey flown in 2017 (S1), represent the remains of post medieval and probably earlier field boundaries. Most are depicted on 19th and early 20th century maps, such as the Ordnance Survey 1st edition 6 inch map (S2), and are only recorded by extent, but a few fragments which are not depicted on the historical maps have been mapped individually. As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently, it is probable that the earthworks still survive.
