Map

Before 1974. Documentary Research.
Cropmarks visible in RAF air photography of 1946 (S5) located at TG 2420 0432 are the remains of a farm of 1840.
Information from Norwich Castle Museum Record Card (S1).
Also noted on HER Record Card (S2) for NHER 9815.
These remains were previously recorded under NHER 9815.
Amended H. Hamilton (HES), 22 November 2024.

November 2024. Documentary Research.
The grid co-ordinates provided on the original record card (S1) are located towards the center of this field.
No buildings are depicted on the First Edition 25-inch Ordnance Survey map (S4), but a group of buildings is depicted on the Caistor St Edmund and Markshall Tithe map (S3) produced in 1840. These are located along the edge of the road, approximately 84m northwest of the original grid co-ordinates. The Tithe map is most likely the origin of the 1840 date previously provided for the farm and therefore this can be confidently noted as the site of farm.
H. Hamilton (HES), 22 November 2024.
