Map

Previously unrecorded World War Two spigot mortar pedestal ('thimble') noted by member of the public in 2024 [1] and clearly visible on 2018 Google Steet View Imagery (S1). This discovery was the subject of a post on the 'Pillbox Study Group' forum (S2). The concrete pedestal is circular with an intact stainless steel pin. As only the uppermost portion of the pedestal is currently exposed it is unclear whether other elements of the mortar emplacement survive.
