Map

In January 2010 a previously unrecorded spigot mortar pedestal ('thimble') was noted by a member of the public at or close to this location [1]. This discovery was the subject of a post on the 'Derelict Places' forum (S1) and subsequently added to the 'Extended Defence of Britain Online' dataset (S2). The available photographs show the pedestal to be circular with an intact stainless steel pin. It is unclear whether other elements of the mortar emplacement survive.
Another photograph of this pedestal was taken by a different member of the public in 2018 [2].
