Map

In 2020 World War Two anti-tank obstacles were noted at this location by a member of the public [1] and subsequently added to the 'Extended Defence of Britain Online' dataset (S1). They consist of four bent iron rails ('hairpins') - two adjacent to the road and two on the other side of the fence. Each of these obstactles had a sloping arm that was designed to force an oncoming tank to climp up and then hopefully ground itself on the top of the vertical sections. It is unclear if any of these examples are in situ.
At least one of the roadside rails can be seen on recent Google Street View imagery (S2).
