Summary

In 2020 evidence for World War Two anti-tank obstacles was noted at this location, close to the bridge over the North Walsham and Dilham Canal. Five square marks in the modern road surface almost certainly represented the sites of concrete sockets for straight or bent iron rails.

In late 2020 a member of the public noted evidence for World War Two anti-tank obstacles at this location [1]. Five 'ghost sockets' were visible - square marks in the modern road surface that almost certainly represented the sites of concrete sockets for straight or bent iron rails. These were subsequently added to the 'Extended Defence of Britain Online' dataset (S1).
