Map

This blast-proof Air Raid Precautions (ARP) command post was built during 1940. A stone inscribed 'A.R.P Nth Walsham Casualty Service 1940' can be seen towards the base of its north wall. It was apparently staffed every night by two casualty service men who were often accompanied by Civil Defence messenger boys. Two nurses were also on call nearby [1].
The significance of this structure was noted by a member of the public in 2018 [1] and it was subsequently added to the (S1).
The building is in good condition and currently in use a restroom.
