Summary

A series of earthwork ditches and mounds, which may relate to medieval post medieval boundaries or post medieval garden features are visible on aerial photographs and visualised lidar data. As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently (2017) it is likely that the features still survive as earthworks. The features may have related to post medieval boundaries or possibly to landscape or garden features associated with the house referred to as The Grange (NHER 11617) located in the centre of the area. It has been suggested that the house’s foundations are situated on the site of medieval monastic grange (see NHER 11617). Therefore, the possibility that earthworks may be associated with the suggested medieval grange, cannot be ruled out
