Full Description
August 2020. Metal-detecting. [1].
Probable post-medieval coin hoard comprising two shillings and a halfcrown of Charles I. These three coins are likely to represent a small hoard that was deposited or lost at some point after 1643. Their worn condition suggests they most likely went into the ground after the Civil War, during the Commonwealth, or (more likely) the Restoration period.
Information from PAS import.
These coins were returned to the finder after being disclaimed as Treasure (Ref: 2021 T837).
P. Watkins (HES), 26 January 2025.
