Full Description
July 2025. Casual Observation.
In July 2025 a member of the public noted that recent clearance works (possibly to create a new entrance into the wood to the south) had revealed a previously unrecorded World War Two spigot mortar pedestal [1]. This appeared to be in good condition, although spray paint markings suggested it was potentially going to be removed as part of the ongoing works. At the time it was observed it was still deeply buried, so it was unclear if anything else of the emplacement survived.
P. Watkins (HES), 7 July 2025.
