Summary

Metal-detecting at this location in 2022 recovered two Late Saxon coins (both silver pennies of Aethelred II) that had potentially been curated as part of a larger hoard.

Found in within 50m of each other:
2 Late Saxon coins - both silver pennies of Aethelred II. These coins are separated by four issues and about 12 years so are unlikely to have been in circulation at the same time - suggesting they are more likely to represent part of a curated hoard rather than casual losses.
