Summary

A large number of prehistoric flint artefacts are recorded as having being found in the parish of Costessey, but the exact locations and nature of their discoveries are uncertain. They include Neolithic flaked flint axeheads, Neolithic polished axeheads and at least one arrowhead.

'Numerous Celts' refers to flint artefacts listed below:
The cutting edge of huge axe 9cm (3.5in) long by 10cm (4in) wide.
An axe, flint, 16.5cm (6.5in) by 7.5cm (3in).
Another axe 13cm (5in) by 5cm (2in).
A fourth the rechipped end of an axe.
Also three broken polished axes (these Costessey as well?), five borers, six 'prismatic flint tools', two of these from Costessey. Thirty-three scrapers, one being a Cissbury flake, another tanged, all Costessey.
Also a flint axe and a lancehead from [1] .
Also includes laurel leaf and barbed and tanged arrowhead.
