Summary

These cast iron carriage gates and gate piers at the entrance to Ingoldisthorpe Hall (NHER 12680) date to c.1830 and are listed Grade II. The piers are rectangular in plan with diamond pattern lattices with quatrefoils and domical caps with acorn finials. The gates have lower speared dog-rails, two opposed segmental stretchers with central roundels and upper speared rails.

Listing Description excerpt:
"Pair of cast iron carriage gates and gate piers. c.1830. Cast iron. Two rectangular on plan piers with diamond pattern lattices with quatrefoils, domical cap with acorn finial. Two gates with lower speared dog-rails and two opposed segmental stretchers with central roundel, upper speared rails. Included for group value with Ingoldisthorpe Hall [NHER 12680]."
